At the Polo Manetti Porciatti a prize of 10,000 Euros

The Manetti Porciatti Technological Center wins ninth place in Italy and first in Tuscany for the project relating to the Saper(e)Consumare competition promoted and financed by the Ministry of Economic Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, receiving a prize of €10,000 to invest in technological tools and in raising digital skills in schools.
The purpose of the call is to increase and spread awareness and skills on sustainable and responsible consumption with particular regard to digital.
The project, entitled "Comfortably from home, but aware!", links all the themes covered by the competition: digital education, consumer rights, sustainable consumption and financial education, through a common thread: the purchase of quality products on the Internet various types, including food ones.
Thanks to the teaching of Civic Education, many classes of the institute will be involved in which topics such as problems related to deceptive trade, consumer rights, product sustainability and logistics will be discussed; products will be considered recycled, recyclable or reusable; the circular economy and industrial symbiosis will be introduced, as well as banking and financial services linked to payment. Furthermore, economic paths will be proposed aimed at disseminating knowledge of the new documents necessary for socio-environmental reporting and the structure of benefit companies.
Each student will learn to use the Internet in a more conscious way with a view to promoting a process of sustainable development.
The project is also an integral part of the PCTO (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation) promoted by the school and enriches the institute's already broad offering.
