The Polo reaches seventh place in the Cybersecurity competition in Pisa
Among the 20 Tuscan high schools that took part in the second edition of the Highschools CTF Workshop as part of the Pisa Internet Festival, there was also the Manetti Porciatti Technological Center of Grosseto, with a representation of 15 students, accompanied by the professors Antonella Minacci and Luisa Guerrini.
In total there were 150 participating students, divided into 25 teams who competed in an ethical hacking competition at the San Rossore Educational Centre, organized by the Cybersecurity National Lab of the CINI as part of the The Big Game programme, with the support of the Tuscany Region and the students of the “Fibonhack” team of the University of Pisa.
The day was organized in two parts; in the morning they attended a series of lessons on fundamental computer security topics, such as OSINT, web security, networks, forensic analysis and cryptography. In the afternoon, a 3-hour team competition took place with challenges on the morning's topics. “It was a busy day for our three-year IT students - commented the teachers of the Technology Center -, but also fun.
The kids showed interest and enthusiastically participated in the afternoon race. One team finished seventh, but all three received a mention for their name choice.”
Here in detail the participants of the three teams are: "Snack companions" Angelo Tonioni (3AIA), Leonardo Gobbini, Flavio Bonaccorso (3BWS), Gregorio Pescucci, Tommaso Tonelli (4BWS). “The catechists of Porciatti” Mattia Sclano, Dario Rossi, Andrea Bocci (4AIA), Giuseppe Mangano, Giorgio Lanza, Kristian D'arco (5AIA) and finally “Skill_issue” Alexandro Terminali, Gabriel Ferreri, Giacomo Presacane and Giuseppe Todaro (5BWS) .
