Robotics, important new challenges for Polo students

On the morning of March 31, 2023, the president of the Province of Grosseto, Francesco Limatola, together with the provincial councilor Cecilia Buggiani, visited the Manetti - Porciatti Technology Center in Grosseto which is recognized as one of the centers of excellence at a national level in the field of educational robotics, obtaining numerous awards.

The president and the provincial councilor met with the head teacher, the teachers and a delegation of students in view of the next important commitments:

  • on 19 April the school will participate in the national selections for the Rescue line in Vicenza (the robot simulates the rescue of victims in dangerous scenarios that vary with each round. It is able to autonomously follow a line and face any danger and obstacle that comes its way in front, until you reach a casualty recovery area)
  • And from 3 May to 5 May the school will participate in the national Soccer selections to qualify for the European Championships to be held in Croatia in June and the World Cup in Bordeaux in July.

“The excellence of this school, confirmed by the results achieved every year by the students in the most important national and international robotics competitions, is a source of pride for the Province of Grosseto. – say the president Francesco Limatola and the provincial councilor Cecilia Buggiani –

During the visit we perceived enthusiasm and passion, both in the students and in their professors. It is clear that there is a positive and collaborative climate at school. I also thank the head teacher for the work he is doing and wish the students to achieve new important goals."
